Italy – Disruption of postal operations

The designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, asks us to inform the designated operators of UPU member countries that, following the bridge collapse along the A10 toll motorway in Genoa, a strategic transport link to and from southern France and Spain, postal operations are disrupted as follows:

As from 14 August 2018:

Outbound – Internal flows from post offices directed to Lonate Gateway blocked in the Savona, Imperia and Genoa districts. Postcodes affected: from 16010 to 18100.

Outbound – Internal Export Box flows from SDA branch in Genoa directed to Lonate Gateway blocked. Postcodes affected: 16149 and 16151.

Inbound –  Undelivered flows in area directly impacted by the accident. Postcodes affected: 16149 and 16151.

Inbound – Uncertain delivery in areas west of the accident. Postcodes affected: from 16152 to 16159.

As from 16 August 2018:

Inbound – Uncertain delivery in areas directly affected by the accident. Postcodes affected: 16149 and 16151.

These disruptions are affecting all mail products (letter post, parcel post and EMS items).

Poste Italiane thanks designated operators for their understanding; it will provide an update via EmIS once the situation returns to normal.
